Today, I launched the first weekly edition of Korea Advertising News. It seems to be a great surprise to all of you because I have been in the outdoor advertising business throughout my career for several decades.
I'm venturing into uncharted territory as I launch this newspaper. A year ago, I didn't even know what the newspaper business was. At first, many people around me tried to talk me out of publishing the newspaper which is fully dedicated to outdoor advertising. They had the reason to be against my launching the newspaper because I did not have any knowledge about newspaper business.
It took a lot of pain and time to publish the Korea Advertising News. Considering that outdoor advertisers have been confronted with unfavorable conditions, I am sure that it is God's calling for me to speak for advertisers and promote their interest.
I recollect having had such a great enthusiasm for getting orders though I did not have any information about materials, equipment, bidding, and so forth.
As you know, the outdoor advertising market is worth 1 trillion Won or more. The Korea Advertising News speaks for outdoor advertisers in Korea, providing a comprehensive picture of Korean outdoor advertising market.
First of all, Korea Advertising News will publish newspapers that promote the interest of outdoor advertising industry in Korea. We will always keep outdoor advertisers updated on the latest information necessary to gain a firm foothold in the global market. The advertising market around the globe is changing very fast, and Korean outdoor advertising market is evolving quickly.
It is hard to foresee the change in economic conditions in this digital era. New media, new materials, and new outdoor advertising equipment are evolving every day. We will always provide comprehensive and high quality information in the most swift fashion which is necessary for outdoor advertising industry in Korea to effectively respond to changes in global trend.
Second, I will continue to make efforts to promote more realistic application of law governing outdoor advertising. Laws related to outdoor advertising are very hard to understand. Current laws and regulations governing outdoor advertising industry are antiquated and unrealistic because little modification has been made to suit the reality since they were enacted.
Unrealistic laws and regulations have often prevented outdoor advertising industry from coping with the change. Korea Advertising News will try its best effort to make laws and regulations more realistic in close cooperation with societies of outdoor advertising, outdoor advertising organizations and other related organizations.
Third, we will use best effort to ensure the transparency in outdoor advertising. The outdoor advertising media is significant as one of a troika in the media market along with the broadcasting and newspaper system segment. Outdoor advertising media, however, has not been given much attention
Forth, I will try my best to help create new culture for outdoor advertising in Korea. Signboards on the street play a decisive role in determining the urban landscape and images. Outdoor advertising reflects the culture of city. We will be committed to creating new culture for outdoor advertising in Korea by launching campaigns throughout seasons in cooperation with administrative organizations and relevant authorities as part of effort to distribute and promote signboards that blend aesthetically with the surrounding environment.
The Korea Advertising News has a long way to go. Though I am a newcomer to the newspaper business, I have built up an extensive experience in the outdoor advertising industry over several decades and I would like to share my experience with all of you in the outdoor advertising industry in Korea.

The Korea Advertising News, incorporated in October 2005, launched its first edition on January 09, 2006, which is the first ever nationwide in the history of outdoor advertising industry. Later, it became a weekly newspaper after publishing its first weekly edition in May 2007.
Standing firm on the motto, "We carry the torchlight for outdoor advertising industry.", the Korea Advertising has served as opinion leader and effective provider of information related to advertisement planning, indoor/outdoor sign & large format printing, scasi, materials used for signs such as channel, etc, distribution and manufacturing, and many more, touted by the industry, academic and political circles as a leading newspaper that spearheads the development of advertising industry.
The Korea Advertising News will provide best information and in-depth analysis to facilitate the advertising industry to effectively respond to needs of society where newspapers, internet, broadcasting, and telecommunication industry are evolving very fast.
No media can survive without communicating and interacting with readers. We will always embrace your criticism and advices in an open-minded way.
As the Korea Advertising News has a maximum circulation of 80,000 volumes a week, companies running ads on our newspaper are given free banner ads on our website to increase their brand recognition in the market.
